The Most Important Word for the Human Species

What is the most important word a human being needs to know? W-H-Y! "Why?" implies a question about purpose. "Why?" forces the person asking the quetion to take responsibility for making a choice: doing something, or not doing something, or doing something else.

"Why?" implies a connection between what I do and what will happen in the future. How do I act when I ask, "Why?" I get the opportunity to consider my relationship with time and space; the consequences of my behavior beyond here and now.

It is my responsibility as a human being, capable as I am of imagining a better future, to ask "Why?" Next time someone asks you "Why?", honor and respect him or her for doing what humans are meant to do: make good choices.

I am a country of sheep...

I live in fear. I lack courage. I lack dedication to a higher purpose in life. I am self-centered. I strike out because I am afraid of what might happen to me. I am afraid of taking chances. I am not tolerant. I make decisions based on what is good for me without consideration of what is good for other people. I don't care about my neighbors or my countrymen unless it threatens me personally. I don't think very far ahead. I don't think about the consequences of my actions. I am reactive, not proactive. I am a victim of a world I don't understand that is constantly attacking me.
