On "Galileo's Error" by Goff

I don't agree with Goff's description of the scientific method[1]. Mathematical models are used to reveal logically complete models of the world I observe. This form of notation allows complete disclosure (to the limits of logic), which allows shared confirmation. The scientific method is a form of communication that allows relative agreement between human experiences of the universe. As such, it is a social function which serves as a way for humans to co-operate, and benefit, by sharing individual perspectives.

I still maintain that consciousness may be no more than it's description as self-awareness, which results from having parts of the brain observing other parts of the brain and communicating what it sees.

When we give AI the ability to interact with itself, observe and comment on itself, consciousness will manifest in AI. When we give the Internet the ability to observe and model itself, consciousness will become available to the Internet.

I continue to believe that we need to build the infrastructure that allows the Internet to observe itself, as if the Internet were a sense-organ, similar to our brain's abilitay to gather information from our own senses.
