Two of my favorite sources: 'Our World in Data' and 'Quanta Magazine'

As a statistician, I've always enjoyed viewing information in graphs and charts. As someone who is interested in who we are as a community, I enjoy and recommend the work by the folks in "Our World In Data" (https://ourworldindata.org). As a human interested in the development of A.I., I was particularly captivated by the January 19, 2025 article by Veronika Samborska about ChatGPT, et al, and the improvement of Large Language Models (LLM's) over time by increasing the number of parameters(1).

And as long as I'm citing sources of articles that I find interesting, here's another of my regulars sources: Quanta Magazine (https://quantamagazine.org). The January 3, 2025 article by Anil Ananthaswamy discusses the folks studying some of the limitations of Chatbots(2).
